GW-2439M is a network gateway for integrating BACnet/IP devices into Modbus-based host systems. It works as a BACnet/IP Client on one side and as a Modbus TCP Server and Modbus RTU Slave on the other, so a SCADA system, PLC or other Modbus master can read and write BACnet object values without implementing BACnet itself.
Engineers typically choose the GW-2439M for multi-subnet BACnet/IP installations. It can receive BACnet/IP messages forwarded between subnets by a BBMD and identify their source devices, which helps with device discovery in large buildings, campuses and industrial sites. Batch reads of several objects from one BACnet device reduce the number of individual requests on the network.
Configuration is handled with a dedicated software tool that scans BACnet/IP servers and their objects, lets you set up object mappings and generates the Modbus mapping table automatically. Configuration files can be imported and exported to speed up deployment. The unit is CE, UKCA, RoHS and WEEE marked and mounts on a DIN rail.
