The HRT-711-UTA is a gateway for HART master communication. It lets a Modbus master read from and access HART field devices such as transmitters and actuators, so existing HART instrumentation can be integrated into a Modbus network without redesigning the field wiring.
The gateway offers one HART port that supports 2-wired or 4-wired devices in point-to-point or multi-drop topology, with up to 15 HART devices. Two HART masters can be used, and both short and long frame formats are supported along with burst mode. Configuration is carried out with the supplied utility software, and firmware can be updated through the RS-232 COM port.
This ordering code is the variant specified for -40 °C applications, with an operating range of -40 to +75 °C. It is suited to industrial, factory and process automation installations where HART devices must be connected to Modbus TCP/UDP systems.
