MN-AD8-DIN is a DIN-rail mounted Motionnet slave module that brings eight +/- 10 V analogue inputs onto a Motionnet network through an RJ-45 communication port. Each channel is sampled at up to 250 ksps with 16-bit resolution, giving a stated minimum resolution of 0.3 mV, which suits engineers who need fast, precise voltage acquisition at distributed points in a machine.
Offset and gain are calibrated in hardware and the calibration data is stored in EEPROM, so the module does not depend on software trimming. A 5 V internal reference with low drift supports the accuracy of the inputs. Power and communication are each isolated, with a 1000 V isolated 24 VDC supply input.
On the network, the transfer speed is selectable at 2.5, 5, 10 or 20 Mbps by DIP switch, and the cyclic time is 15.1 us per device at 20 Mbps. Up to 64 modules can share one communication port, and the I/O connection status is updated by hardware without taking CPU time.
