The PEX-DA8 CR is an 8-channel, 14-bit analogue output board for PCI Express systems. It suits engineers who need several control outputs from a single PC slot, with voltage or current signals selected per channel rather than fixed for the whole card.
Each channel can be configured independently as a voltage output (±10 V) or a current output (0 to 20 mA, sink). Calibration is handled in software, so the board has no jumpers or trim-pots to adjust, and calibration data is stored in EEPROM. A 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify individual boards when two or more are installed in the same computer.
The board also includes 16 channels of 5 V/TTL digital input, 16 channels of 5 V/CMOS digital output and three 16-bit timer/counter channels. It is supplied with one CA-4002 D-Sub connector. According to the manufacturer's notes, it is designed as a direct replacement for the PIO-DA series without changes to existing software or drivers.
