PPDS-742-IP67 CR links RS-232 and RS-485 serial equipment to an Ethernet network. The built-in COM ports can be presented as standard COM ports on a Windows PC using the VxComm Utility, and the unit can operate as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway.
Applications are developed on the Xserver programming structure running on the built-in MiniOS7 firmware, which the manufacturer states boots in one second. The serial ports carry +/-4 kV ESD protection, the RS-485 port uses a self-tuner ASIC controller, and a watchdog timer is fitted for unattended operation.
The plastic IP67 casing and rugged RJ-45 connector suit demanding sites exposed to water, oil, dust and vibration. The unit is powered either by PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1) or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC supply, and this ordering code includes a 5-pin waterproof power plug (4SIO1K0000013). It is wall mounted; DIN-rail mounting applies to /DIN versions only.
