The RS-408 CR is an 8-port Ethernet switch for building redundant ring networks on 10/100Base-TX copper. Its built-in Cyber-Ring technique allows several switches to be joined into one ring, with copper link failures typically detected and recovered in approximately 20 ms.
Setup is limited to DIP switch settings for redundancy mode and maximum recovery time, so no software configuration is needed. Two DC feeds can be connected to live +10 VDC ~ +30 VDC sources at the same time, and if one fails the other takes over. A relay output signals power or network link failures to the control system.
Remote status can be read over Modbus/TCP or Modbus/RTU, and the unit supports a Modbus OPC Server. Its -40 °C ~ +75 °C operating range and DIN-rail mounting suit cabinet installations in demanding environments.
