The RSM-408 CR is an 8-port Industrial Ethernet redundant ring switch for 10/100Base-TX networks. Each RJ-45 port negotiates between 10 and 100 Mbps and adapts automatically between MDI and MDI-X wiring, so cabling is simple. Its built-in Cyber-Ring technique allows several switches to form a redundant ring, and a copper link failure is typically detected and recovered within approximately 20 ms.
Set-up requires no software. Redundancy mode and maximum recovery time are chosen with DIP switches, and the unit is supplied ready for use once the DIP settings are made. Two DC inputs can be connected to live sources at the same time, so if one fails the other keeps the switch running. A relay output raises a warning when power or network link fails. Modbus/RTU and Modbus/TCP support allows remote monitoring, including through the Modbus OPC Server.
The metal housing carries an IP30 rating and is rated for operation from -40 °C to +75 °C. The RSM-408 CR is supplied with the 4SNPNA010021G wall mount kit, and it can also be installed on a DIN rail.
