The VXC-118U CR adds eight full-duplex RS-232 ports to a PCI-based host, making it a practical choice when a PC needs to talk to several serial devices at once. Each port has its own 256-byte hardware FIFO, which helps buffer data between the card and the host.
The card works with both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI bus signalling and uses a short card layout. COM port numbers can be assigned automatically by the driver to the first available number, or selected manually under software control, which simplifies integration with existing serial applications.
This ordering code includes one CA-PC62M D-Sub connector for the DB-62 female interface. It suits engineers connecting barcode readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors, instrumentation and other equipment fitted with an RS-232 port.
