The WP-9221-CE7 is a compact programmable automation controller built around a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 processor and Windows CE 7.0. It suits engineers who want to run PC-style control software, such as Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# or Visual C++ applications, SCADA packages or soft PLC software, on a DIN-rail controller with local I/O.
Two expansion slots accept I-9K (parallel-type) and I-97K (serial-type) I/O modules. Connectivity includes two 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, four RS-232/485 serial ports with 3000 VDC isolation, two USB 2.0 host ports and a VGA output. The WP-9221-CE7 is a 2-slot model; the WP-9421-CE7 and WP-9821-CE7 offer 4 and 8 slots in the same series.
For dependable operation, the unit provides a dual watchdog timer, a real-time clock and a 64-bit hardware serial number for software protection. The power input is redundant, with a relay output for alarm, and the metal casing is rated for an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
