GW-2493M is a network gateway that gives BACnet/IP clients access to Modbus devices, acting as a Modbus TCP client on the field side. It suits building automation projects where Modbus equipment must be integrated into a BACnet network.
The gateway provides a large pool of BACnet objects (AI, AO, AV, BI, BO, BV, MSI, MSO and MSV), so Modbus TCP registers can be mapped flexibly onto any combination of them. Data can be manipulated in simple ways as it passes between the two protocols. Several BIBBs are supported, including DS-RP-B, DS-RPM-B, DS-WP-B and DS-WPM-B, and all configuration is carried out through a standard web browser.
Typical use cases include HVAC control, lighting control, access control and fire detection systems. The metal housing mounts on a DIN rail and accepts a +10 ~ +30 VDC supply.
