GW-7557-B is a PROFIBUS DP-V0 slave gateway for bringing HART field devices onto a PROFIBUS network. The PROFIBUS master reads and writes the HART slaves through the gateway, so transmitters, actuators and current output devices can be integrated without a separate HART host on the bus.
The unit supports four HART channels in point-to-point or multi-drop mode, with two HART masters permitted and up to 15 HART modules connectable. Short and long HART frames and HART burst mode are supported, and the PROFIBUS side can exchange up to 240 bytes of input and 240 bytes of output data.
Configuration is handled through an RS-232 port and the utility software supplied with the module. The plastic-case, DIN-rail version suits installations where galvanic separation between the fieldbus and the logic side matters, with 2500 Vrms bus-to-logic isolation and 3000 VDC isolation on the PROFIBUS side.
