The XP-8131-CE6 is a programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz dual-core x86 CPU running Windows CE 6.0. Its single I/O expansion slot accepts high-profile I-8K parallel and I-87K serial I/O modules, so you can add input and output capacity without changing the controller platform.
Windows CE 6.0 gives the controller hard real-time capability, a small core, fast boot and deterministic control. The unit can also run PC-based control software such as Visual Basic .NET and Visual C#, which suits projects where a traditional PLC structure needs to be combined with Windows application development.
Memory and connectivity include 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM, 32 GB flash storage, dual 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, serial COM ports, four USB 2.0 host ports and a VGA output. A 64-bit hardware serial number is available for software copy protection, and the redundant power input and dual watchdog timer support robust installations.
