The ECAT-2610 CR brings serial RS-232/422/485 equipment into an EtherCAT control system without modifying the connected device. It presents as an EtherCAT SubDevice on the network side and as a Modbus RTU Main Device on the serial side, so the controller receives the serial data as ordinary I/O.
Protocol conversion takes place inside the gateway, so no PLC function blocks are required. It exchanges up to 256 WORD of input and 256 WORD of output data, and the serial port supports baud rates up to 115200 bps. Two RJ-45 EtherCAT connectors are provided, with a maximum distance of 100 m between stations over 100BASE-TX.
The ordering code includes a CA-0915 DB9 male to DB9 female cable, 1.5 m. The unit has a plastic housing for DIN-rail mounting, accepts +12 VDC to +48 VDC input and is rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C.
