Remote Maintenance Product
M2M-711D is a serial-to-network device for remote maintenance and for upgrading existing serial installations to network connectivity. It gives maintenance engineers access to serial devices and PLCs over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, so faults can be diagnosed remotely with much of the detail of an on-site visit. The unit offers two networking approaches. In VxServer mode, the companion virtual COM middleware on a Windows host maps the device's serial port to a virtual COM port, so existing RS-232 client programs can reach remote equipment without being rewritten. In pair-connection mode, two serial devices are linked by a TCP data tunnel, with the M2M-711D operating as server or client. The ordering code M2M-711D CR is the RoHS-compliant variant listed in the source as Asia only.ApplicationsUpgrading existing serial applications to network communicationRemote maintenance and diagnostics of equipment and PLCsVirtual COM access to remote serial devices from Windows RS-232 client programs (not supported in Wi-Fi mode)
M2M-720-A is a remote maintenance device server for engineers who need to reach serial equipment over an IP network. Its pair connection function carries an RS-232 or RS-485 port across Ethernet TCP/IP, so a remote operator works with the attached device as if it were on a local COM port.Voice streaming runs alongside the serial session, letting an operator speak with someone at the equipment while adjusting or monitoring it. In server mode the unit can also broadcast voice and manage up to 64 clients, which include other M-4132 and M2M-710D devices. Virtual COM technology adds COM port capacity on a PC, which helps where real serial ports are scarce. The unit runs on a Linux platform with a built-in web server, FTP server, real-time clock, event recording and e-mail alerts. It supports static IP, DHCP and PPPoE addressing, along with dynamic DNS for sites without a fixed public IP. The fanless, robust housing is rated for an operating temperature of -20 ~ +60 ℃.ApplicationsRemote maintenance of equipment sold in various locationsRemote maintenance and monitoring using Virtual COM technology (not supported in Wi-Fi mode)Upgrading existing serial applications to network applications
