ZigBee
Wi-Fi Modbus Data Concentrator with 1 x Ethernet, 1 x RS-232 and 1 x RS-485. (Asia Only).
The MDC-211-ZT CR is a Modbus data concentrator that brings serial Modbus RTU devices onto an Ethernet network. It polls connected RS-232 and RS-485 devices according to a user-defined command table, then arranges their data into a continuous address range. A remote monitoring host can therefore read data from several Modbus RTU devices in a single Modbus TCP connection, which reduces Ethernet traffic and simplifies data acquisition.Wireless reach comes from the ZigBee mesh interface. The concentrator can connect remote, distributed ZT-2000 I/O modules and general Modbus RTU devices in locations where cabling is difficult to install, with a typical line-of-sight transmission distance of 700 m.Setup is handled through a web-based user interface, where you can check communication status and the update frequency of each Modbus RTU command. Configuration, including the Modbus TCP ID and port, serial parameters and polling commands, can be backed up and copied as a CSV file, which suits SCADA-based monitoring systems.ApplicationsRemote monitoring and control systems built around SCADAAdding Ethernet connectivity to existing Modbus RTU devicesCollecting data from distributed Modbus devices where cabling is difficult to deployIntegrating ZigBee wireless I/O modules into an Ethernet-based Modbus system
ZT-2510 CR is a compact wireless ZigBee repeater based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. It performs network routing and signal relay within a personal area ZigBee network, so an engineer can use it to extend transmission range and improve the quality of the wireless link. The module operates in the ISM 2.4 GHz band across 16 channels and is fully compliant with IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee Pro (ZigBee 2007). It works as a router in a network managed by a coordinator from the ZT-2550 or ZT-2570 series, passing data between parent and child nodes. Each network can manage up to 255 ZigBee routers.Configuration is handled through a Windows GUI utility, where users set parameters such as the PAN ID for their application. RF transmission power is adjustable, and the module is supplied with a 5 dBi omni-directional antenna. It mounts on a DIN rail and is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C.ApplicationsExtending the range of ZigBee personal area networksRelaying wireless data between parent and child nodes in ZigBee networksImproving wireless signal quality across sites where direct links are weak
The ZT-2530M bridges two separate ZigBee networks by combining a ZigBee coordinator and a ZigBee router in one DIN-rail module. Its two 2.4 GHz omni-directional antennas help it maintain links where buildings and other obstacles in urban areas would otherwise weaken the signal.Typical uses include bridging communication between indoor and outdoor units, or splitting a large, complex network into smaller segments to improve efficiency. Hardware configuration is set through a fully external switch, and the RF output power can be adjusted to suit the installation. The module is designed for wireless systems where running cable to field devices is impractical. It supports AES-128 encryption for the wireless link and includes surge and ESD protection. Unicast and broadcast transmission are both supported, with source identification for non-addressed device data.Adjustable RF output power up to 10 dBm EIRPSupports the Topology Utility for network monitoring and improvementConfigured through a Windows GUI utility, including ZigBee parameters such as the PAN IDPlastic DIN-rail housing, 10 to 30 VDC input, -25 ~ +75 °C operating rangeApplicationsWireless extension of RS-232 and RS-485 serial devicesPersonal area ZigBee networks requiring a coordinator and router nodesRemote serial data collection over a ZigBee mesh
The ZT-2551 CR is a compact wireless converter that links serial RS-232 or RS-485 devices into an IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee personal area network. It operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and is fully compliant with the ZigBee and ZigBee Pro (ZigBee 2007) specifications, so it can be integrated into a ZigBee network without changes to the serial device itself.Engineers will value its routing function. The unit can act as a ZigBee router, passing data between parent and child nodes to extend transmission range and improve signal quality. Broadcast transmission supports redundant paths, while unicast transmission reduces network loading. A topology utility helps monitor and improve the network, and the RF output power is adjustable.Configuration is handled through a Windows GUI utility, which allows settings to be chosen according to the application, including ZigBee variables such as the PAN ID. AES-128 encryption protects wireless traffic, and source identification is available for non-addressed device data. The plastic housing mounts on a DIN rail, and the unit is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C.ApplicationsWireless extension of RS-232 or RS-485 serial linksSerial device connectivity over ZigBee personal area networksExtending the range of wireless serial networks using router function
The ZT-2570 CR is a ZigBee Coordinator converter that connects RS-232, RS-485 and Ethernet equipment to an IEEE 802.15.4 personal area network in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. As coordinator, it initialises and manages network routing, with a maximum of 255 slaves. For engineers who need a wireless link without rewriting host communication, the unit provides Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP gateway operation using broadcast or unicast transmission. Broadcast can serve as a redundant transmission path, while unicast reduces network loading. AES-128 encryption protects wireless traffic, and source identification is available for non-addressed device data.Configuration is handled through a Windows GUI utility, which includes a topology utility for network monitoring and improvement. Adjustable RF output of up to 10 dBm EIRP and a 5 dBi omni-directional antenna give a line-of-sight range of 300 metres. The unit is DIN-rail mountable and runs from +10 VDC to +30 VDC.ApplicationsWireless serial and Ethernet extension of RS-232 and RS-485 devicesModbus RTU and Modbus TCP gateways over ZigBeeZigBee network coordination for up to 255 slave nodesRedundant or load-reduced wireless data paths using broadcast or unicast transmission

The ZT-CHK CR is a USB-connected wireless sniffer for engineers who need to see what is actually travelling over the air in an IEEE 802.15.4 network. It captures the data packets as they are transmitted and passes them to a PC, where TI SmartRF Protocol Packet Sniffer software displays them in real time.Captured packets can be viewed or stored on the PC for later analysis. The captured traffic corresponds to ZigBee 2007 (ZigBee Pro), which makes the module useful for examining IEEE 802.15.4 communication in your own applications and for shortening wireless communication test cycles. No external antenna or external power supply is needed, as the module uses an integrated 2.4GHz-3dBi PCB antenna and draws power over USB.Installing the SmartRF Protocol Packet Sniffer software also installs the ZT-CHK driver, which supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
