The I-3591 M-Bus repeater strengthens the drive capability of an M-Bus line, extends its cable distance, and reshapes the signal waveform so that the M-Bus master can communicate reliably with a larger number of meters.
It suits engineers building metering networks for electricity, water and heat meters, where the two-wire M-Bus carries both power and communication. The unit needs no configuration: it detects the baud rate automatically once it is wired into the line. Its overcurrent, short-circuit and reverse polarity protection help it withstand common wiring faults.
The I-3591 CR is the RoHS-labelled version of the repeater. It provides one master port and one slave port, with 3750 Vrms photo-coupler isolation, and mounts on a DIN rail. Power consumption is 1.6 W at 24 VDC with one slave device and 9.7 W with 100 slave devices.
