The I-7188XB-512 is a palm-size serial programmable automation controller for embedded control in harsh industrial environments. It suits designs where a PC or PLC would be too large, too costly or too demanding, and it runs the built-in MiniOS7 real-time operating system with programs written in C.
Built around an 80188 CPU running at 40 MHz, the controller provides 512 KB of flash and 512 KB of SRAM, plus 2 KB of EEPROM and 31 bytes of NVRAM for retained data. A real-time clock, a watchdog timer and a 64-bit hardware serial number support reliable, traceable operation. The I/O expansion bus accepts X-board modules for extending the I/O.
This ordering code is the blue-cover variant (CR suffix). Its built-in I/O comprises one dry contact input and one open-collector output rated up to +30 VDC and 100 mA. Communication is handled by one RS-485 port and one RS-232/RS-485 port at up to 115200 bps. The unit is DIN-rail mounted, powered from +10 to 30 VDC and rated for -25 to +75 °C operation.
