The I-7513-G splits one RS-485 master link into three independently driven RS-485 outputs, so a single bus can be fanned out to several slave branches. Each output channel has its own driver and is rated for up to 4,000 ft (1200 m) of cable.
Because the unit provides both hub and repeater functions, any output channel can feed another hub, allowing star-wired RS-485 networks to be built in stages. Isolation is applied in the input and output interface circuits, giving three-way isolation between the connected segments.
Ideal for engineers designing RS-485 star topologies who need electrical separation between branches, the -G variant ships with a gray cover and is intended for DIN-rail installation within the -25 ~ +75 °C operating range.
