The PEX-730 CR is a PCI Express x1 digital I/O board that combines 16 optically isolated digital inputs and 16 isolated open-collector outputs with 16 TTL-level inputs and 16 TTL-level outputs. Isolation is rated at 3750 Vrms, so field inputs can be floated to avoid ground loops and the host computer is protected from damaging voltages.
The isolated outputs are NPN Darlington sink types with an integrated suppression diode for inductive loads, rated at 100 mA/+30 V per channel at 100% duty. They suit alarm and warning signalling, control of external circuits needing a higher voltage level, and general signal output control. The inputs support wet contact sensing from 9 to 24 V, and the internal power supply for dry-contact inputs is isolated to 3000 VDC.
When more than one card is fitted in the same PC, the onboard 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board. The PEX-730 CR is designed as a direct replacement for the PISO-730U and PISO-730A with no software or driver modifications required.
