PROFI-5050 is a PROFIBUS DP-V0 slave remote I/O module that brings 16 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs onto a PROFIBUS network. The inputs accept sink or source wiring, and the outputs are sink type, so the module suits a wide range of field devices such as switches, sensors and small loads.
Addressing is set on rotary switches across the range 0 to 99, and the transmission rate is detected automatically across the PROFIBUS rates from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s. The I/O configuration is handled through the GSD file, so the module can be added to any PROFIBUS configurator without custom tooling.
For electrically noisy plants, the PROFIBUS side is isolated to 3000 VDC and the network is protected by high-speed iCoupler isolation. Each terminal has 4 kV ESD protection. The module is DIN-rail mounted and rated for an operating range of -25 to +75 ℃.
