The VPD-173X-64 is a 7-inch touch HMI from the VPD Series, designed for operator control in building, home and industrial automation. Its high-resolution colour TFT touch screen replaces mechanical switches with a configurable graphical interface, and the unit mounts on a standard wall outlet box.
Connectivity centres on two serial ports, each selectable as RS-232 or RS-485 and isolated to 2500 VDC, plus a 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port that can be powered over PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1). The -64 suffix denotes the expanded memory of this variant, with 64 MB SDRAM and 64 MB Flash. A real-time clock, a buzzer and XV-board expansion complete the hardware.
Programming is handled with the free HMIWorks tool, which offers a Ladder Designer for PLC users and a C language environment for software developers. The front panel is rated NEMA 4 / IP65. The unit is listed with CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE certifications.
