The VPD-173X CR is a 7-inch touch HMI from the VPD series, built for wall-mounted control panels in building, home and industrial automation. Its 800 x 480 TFT colour touch screen (65535 colours) and 250 cd/m2 brightness make it suitable for replacing mechanical switch panels with intelligent, graphical control pads.
The unit is powered either by PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1) or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block. It provides 16 MB SDRAM and 16 MB Flash, a real-time clock, one 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port and two serial ports that can be configured as RS-232 or RS-485. The COM ports are 2500 VDC isolated. XV-board I/O expansion boards can be added for extra I/O.
Programming is carried out with the free HMIWorks tool, which offers a Ladder Designer for PLC users and a C language environment for IT users. The front panel is rated IP65 / NEMA 4, with a rotary switch, reset button, buzzer and status LEDs.
