The TPD-280-M1 CR is a compact touch HMI for engineers who need a local operator interface in a wall-mounted control point. It pairs a 2.8-inch TFT colour display with a resistive touch panel and a single RS-485 port, so it can serve as a cost-effective replacement for mechanical switches in building and home automation projects. The white cover version (CR) is the variant offered here.
Programming is handled with the free HMIWorks tool, which supports GUI design. Engineers with a PLC background can use Ladder Designer, while those who prefer text-based development can use the C language environment, including support for a custom communication protocol written in C. The manufacturer states that a basic application can be created in Ladder Designer in no more than 30 minutes.
The unit draws 1.5 W from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block and is housed in a 127 mm x 92 mm x 31 mm enclosure with a front panel rated IP40. It is rated for an operating temperature of -20 ~ +70 °C and carries CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE certifications.
